Intro to mountaineering!

Sky Pilot Peak is a fantastic introduction to mountaineering and alpine climbing. This trip is 2 days with the afternoon of the first day beginning at the Sea To Sky Gondola. The gondola will wisk you to 885m where the hike begins. It takes approximately 3 hours to hike to a small meadow with your bivi. The second day is spent climbing to the summit of Sky Pilot and hiking back to the gondola.

On the second day, you begin with breakfast and, of course coffee at camp then ascend a climbers trail across moraine to the Stadium glacier. Cross this small glacier to the West Ridge route and scramble fun 4th/5th class rock steps, including the “Pink Slab” to the summit.

The trip involves hiking, easy alpine rock climbing, and a small snowfield/glacier crossing. Along the way our guides will ensure your safety with ropes and harnesses. You will need your camera handy as the views are 360 degrees!
