West Coast Ice!

Loose Lady is a West Coast Ice test piece that regularly forms. This climb makes a great day out on ice. The day begins with a 15min approach hike through the forest to the base of the first ice step.

Several small ice steps, and 25m pitch lead to a beautiful 50m WI3. The top of this pitch opens into a discrete punchbowl where, around the corner, lies the grandeur of the crux. A final 70m crux pitch soars above as you enter the steeply carved rock punch bowl.

You will need to bring your headlamp for this classic. It’s a long day and the only down is to rappel the route. Once back at the base, we retrace our steps back to our vehicles parked on the road.

Finishing the first pitch of the crux pitches.

A superb multipitch!

Loose Lady is a West Coast Ice test piece. Located high above the Duffy Hwy, exposure on the last pitch is incredible.
